Burning Mouth Syndrome Symptoms
The common symptom for burning mouth syndrome is the burning pain. Some people describe it as a milder pain with tingling, while others say it’s severe, scalding. The burning can be on:

Your tongue

Your palate

Your gums

The inside of your cheeks

Your lips
The pain can come and go or be consistent. Commonly, the pain eases at night but some people have it just as severe overnight as during the day.
Some people with BMS say they have other symptoms, such as a very dry mouth (xerostomia) or changes in the sense of taste.
